Leh Tour Itinerary
04 Nights / 05 Day
Day 1: ARRIVE LEH
On arrival at Leh airport, our executive will be there to meet you and transfer you to your pre booked hotel/Guest house. Check in at the hotel/guest house for relax and acclimatisation. Note that it is necessary to get acclimatised at a high altitude.
Day 2: LEH – SHEY – THIKSEY – HEMIS
Today, we will proceed for the sightseeing tour of some ancient monasteries in Leh.
SHEY GOMPA :
It is approximately 15 kms from Leh and used to be the summer palace of the kings of Ladakh.
THIKSEY GOMPA:
Nestled close to Shey, Thiksey Gompa is approximately 17 kms away from Leh.
HEMIS:
It is approximately 45 kms south of Leh and one of the largest monasteries in Ladakh.
Day 3: LEH – NUBRA VALLEY (125 KMS/05 HRS)
In the morning after breakfast, we will drive to Nubra Valley. During the drive, we will pass through world’s highest motorable road at Khardung la Pass, which is said to be one of the highlights of any Leh and Ladakh tour.
KHARDUNG LA PASS:
The road journey to Nubra valley leads through Khardung La Pass (the highest motorable road in the world) 18,390 ft.
NUBRA VALLEY:
The Nubra means Ldumra (the valley of flowers). It is located in the north of Leh. The average height of the valley is about 10,000 ft.
DISKIT VILLAGE:
Diskit is the main village of headquarter of Nubra valley, which has a small market consisting of a row of shops and about 500 years old Gompa on the hilltop.
DISKIT GOMPA :
Diskit Gompa was founded by Lama Sherab Zangpo of Stod in about 1420 AD during the reign of King Dragspa.
HUNDAR VILLAGE:
Hundar is a beautiful village to stay with lot of trees and you will really enjoy your stay at Hundar. It has a small monastery and ruined fort above the village.
Day 4: NUBRA VALLEY – LEH (125 KMS/05 HRS)
Today after breakfast, we will leave to visit Samstanling monastery and later drive back to Leh, while driving once again via Khardung la pass, the world highest motorable road. An overnight stay in Leh.
